MARCH 5, 2016 -- The 40th LD Democrats unanimously endorsed Raise Up Washington's Initiative 1433, which would incrementally raise Washington State's minimum wage to $13.50 over the next four years. It would also allow workers to accumulate up to 40 hours of paid safe and sick leave per year.
Raising the minimum wage makes it possible for working families to contribute to the growth and stability of our state.
Data proves that when workers have more money, businesses have more customers, more jobs are created, and there is less dependence on government and social programs.
