The Design Of Dissent

  • Civilization Gallery 532 1st Avenue South Seattle, WA, 98104 United States (map)

Civilization Design Firm will host a free exhibition of the ways design has been used to question, challenge, and communicate dissent wherever necessary to protect the freedoms we so value. Originally curated by Milton Glaser and Mirko Ilic, The Design of Dissent explores the social and political protest and critique spanning the last fifty years addressing war, racism, human rights, poverty, environmental protection, gun control, and corporate greed. It was originally displayed in 2005 at The School of Visual Arts in New York. The new iteration, curated in collaboration with Civilization, is a direct reaction to the state of current affairs. This exhibition is open for viewing between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday from February 2 through April 6. More information here
